To let customers add multiple combinations to the cart in PrestaShop without repeating the purchase ten times, what works is showing every combination of the product in a table, or in a colour-by-size grid, with a quantity box on each one and a single button that adds it all to the cart. They see the stock and the total as they type, and the whole order goes in at once.
Think of Sarah, who runs a children's clothes shop in Bristol and buys T-shirts from you for the season. She wants the blue one in sizes 4, 6, 8 and 10, the red one in 6 and 8, and the white one in every size. That's fourteen lines. On your product page, each one means choosing the colour, choosing the size, quantity, add to cart and start again. By the sixth she's had enough, emails you the list and someone on your team types it in by hand on Monday.
Can customers bulk order several sizes at once in PrestaShop?
Not out of the box. PrestaShop's product page is built for someone buying one unit of one combination: you pick the size and colour from the drop-downs, enter the quantity and add to cart. If you want another size, you go through the whole thing again.
For someone buying a single T-shirt, that's fine. For someone buying by the box —a shop, a sports club, a company kitting out its staff— it's a wall. And on top of that:
- They don't know what's in stock until they try each combination one by one.
- They don't know what they'll pay: the quantity discount sits in a little table of its own and the real total only shows up in the cart.
How do you show all combinations in a table?
With Combinations Table for PrestaShop, every combination of the product appears below the product details, each in its own row: its image, reference, availability and price. Your customer can filter by size or colour, sort by price or availability and click "In stock only" to keep just what they can actually order.
Your theme's selector and button make way for a button that says "Choose among 8 combinations" and takes them to the table, so there's only one way to buy on the page. If the whole product is out of stock, the page keeps its usual form, including your theme's "notify me when available".
You decide where it appears: on every product with combinations, only in certain categories, or product by product from its own page in the back office.
What if the product has colour and size? The size grid
When a product has exactly two attributes, such as colour and size, the table turns into a grid: one row per colour, one column per size and a box at each crossing. It's the order exactly as your wholesale customer has it in their head.
Sarah types 6 in blue size 4, jumps to the next box with the arrow keys and carries on. At the bottom, a fixed bar keeps count of the lines, the units and the total. When she's done, she clicks one button and all fourteen lines go into the cart at the same moment.
The grid is designed for what fits on a screen: up to ten sizes per row. If a product has more values, or three attributes instead of two, it's shown as a table, with the same quantity box on every row.
Can I have one view for wholesale customers and another for everyone else?
Yes, and it's the most important decision when you set it up. You mark which customer groups buy wholesale —your trade customers, your distributors— and they see the grid, quantities on every row and the fixed order bar.
Everyone else, including anyone who isn't signed in, sees the table with an "Add" button on each row. They find their size without fiddling with the drop-down ten times.
If you already keep your trade customers separate, as we explain in how to set up a trade-only PrestaShop shop, with that article's trade registration module installed, the table marks their trade group as wholesale from day one.
What about stock and minimum quantities?
The table shows everything your shop knows about each combination, and warns the customer before they get it wrong:
- Out of stock: shown as out of stock and can't be ordered. If you allow orders without stock, they show as "On backorder". If you prefer, you hide them completely.
- Low stock: you choose whether to show just "In stock" or the exact number left. If someone asks for more than there is, the quantity is adjusted and they're told how many are left.
- Minimum quantity: each combination's own, the one you have already set in PrestaShop, appears in its box.
And if a line can't go into the cart because another customer took the last units a second earlier, that row is flagged with the reason and the rest of the order goes in anyway. Nobody loses fourteen lines because of one.
Do quantity discounts still apply?
Yes. The mistake that costs you is a table that works out prices on its own and shows a different one from what the cart charges. Your customer sees £4.50 each, gets to checkout and it's £5.20. That order isn't coming back.
In this table the module calculates no prices at all: they all come from PrestaShop, with specific prices, the customer's group, country, currency and taxes. The quantity discount tiers you have already set up show in the table —"From 12 units: £4.50"— and as soon as the order reaches a tier, the total applies it. It's counted per combination or per whole product, depending on how your shop is set up, exactly as the cart counts it.
Every line goes in through PrestaShop's cart, so your cart rules keep working.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes, and that's where it shows most. Many trade customers order from their phone, between visits, and a table designed for a desktop makes them scroll sideways.
On mobile each combination becomes a card, and the grid reads colour by colour, with a plus and minus button on each size, big enough for a thumb. Nothing spills off the screen and the total bar stays at the bottom while you order.
It also works with a keyboard and a screen reader. If you sell to customers in the EU, the European Accessibility Act has applied to most online shops since June 2025, so it's no small detail.
Will it look right with my theme?
The table brings no colours or fonts of its own: it takes your theme's buttons, fields and colours. It works with Classic, with Hummingbird, the PrestaShop 9 theme, with Warehouse and with the themes built on them, from PrestaShop 1.7.5 to version 9. And it doesn't rewrite any part of PrestaShop, so it doesn't clash with your other modules.
If you also sell accessories with the product, each has its place: accessories above the buy button, the table full width below the product details.
Frequently asked questions
Can my customer add several combinations to the cart at once?
Yes. They type the quantity of each combination they want and click a single button: they all go into the cart in the same request, and the cart in the header updates without leaving the page.
Does it work for anything other than clothing?
Yes. It works with any product with combinations: dimensions and finishes, formats and flavours, lengths and thicknesses. The grid appears whenever there are two attributes; if the product has one or three, the table appears.
What about customisable products?
If a product requires the customer to enter text or upload a file before buying, it keeps its usual form, because that's the one that collects the customisation. On every other product in the shop the table appears as normal.
Where do I start?
Open your product with the most combinations and count how many clicks it takes a customer to order five sizes in two colours. Then do the same in the demo shop, with the table already set up. Everything you have read is built into Combinations Table for PrestaShop: its page is just below, with what's included, compatibility and price.
